JFL Final

On Saturday night we took a team to the JFL B final at Whittlesey. JFL is about learning to race and is a great league for our younger swimmers to compete in as a team and develop their racing skills. By this we mean such things as standing still on the blocks, leaving the blocks as soon as the race is started, on backstroke remembering their stroke count from the flags to the turn, in breast stroke remembering a two hands together touch at the turn and finish to name but a few things. There is a lot to learn and our squad this year have not let us down, they have made massive progress and we are extremely proud of them all.
We came 4th overall on Saturday which perhaps does not reflect how well the swimmers did, I believe there was only one point between us and 3rd. The final results are not available but I will publish them when they are. We had some great pb’s and some tremendous swims. The relay at the end was fantastic and those not swimming were cheering their team mates on for a great win. Well done everybody.

Club Captains

Olivia Pearce will continue as girls club captain and Tom Blenkiron has been named boys club captain – effective from Jan 2016.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Will Davies (the outgoing boys captain) for all his hard work. Will has been one of the most committed captains the club has had and we have appreciated all his help poolside and the great role model he has been for the younger swimmers. We wish you well at Cambridge and look forward to hearing how it is going when you pop back and see us.
