Huntingdon Piranhas qualified to swim in the B final of the Junior Fenland League. The meet was hosted by the City of Ely swimming club in Whittlesey swimming pool. The teams that took part in the B final were Huntingdon Piranhas, Thetford, Ely, First Strokes and Deepings.
The Junior Fenland League is a series of 5 swimming meets that are held between between March and September. 15 swimming clubs race in the league with the 6th event, the series final, being held on the 7th October.
15 members of the Piranhas team swam in the finial and they achieved 20 PB’s over 45 races. The team got 4 first places and 8 second places.
The following swimmers won their races: Kian Lee age 9 and under 50M freestyle and 50m backstroke, Isaac Lawrence age 10 and under 50m breaststroke and Alice Lawrence age 13 and under 50m butterfly
The following swimmers came 2nd in their races: Beatrice Pauley 13 and under 50m breaststroke and the Individual medley,Amelia Roberts 12 and under 50m freestyle, Eleanor Drinkwater 9 and under 50m freestyle, Owen Gore 13 and under 50m freestyle, Alice Lawrence 13 and under 50m freestyle, Dominic Pauley 11 and under 50m breaststroke and Josh Trinidad 12 and under 50m fly.
The team included Will Coggins, Owen Gore, Alex Allen, Michael Drinkwater, Josh Trinidad, Kian Lee, Matt Coggins, Isaac Lawrence, Dominic Pauley, Beatrice Pauley, Amelia Roberts, Alice Lawrence, Eleanor Drinkwater, Jorja Babcock and Ciara Walshe.
The results for the B final were Theford 1st, Ely 2nd, First Strokes 3rd, Deepings 4th and Huntingdon Piranhas 5th.
